One of the fallacies of leadership is the thinking that in building a career, legacy, or power base you have achieved the essential core of what leadership is about. Quite frankly, that could not be further from the truth.
The fact is, that leadership is built upon the premise of leading others. In leading others, you set in motion those principles to empower people to move forward and upward in their abilities.
This can only be achieved, not by tearing others down, or lifting yourself up, but by Building Others UP.
- A parent is only successful in that they build their children up to become respectful young men and women in their lives.
- A pastor is effective only in how they disciple their flock to grow in the faith.
- A coach has influence in their players mastering the fundamentals and advanced nuances of their sport.
